Vermont Gleaning Collective member organizations we share food with to feed more Vermonters!
Community Partners:
CHCV and Vermont Fermentation Adventures (VFA) teamed up to provide “Probiotics for the PEOPLE”. Through this partnership, CHCV volunteers prepared and fermented gleaned veggies under VFA direction, learning how to ferment as they went! The resulting kraut and kimchi CHCV then donated to our food shelf and meal site partners.
Valentine Farm sharing potato love with the community. CHCV helped them harvest, clean and donate what they grew for those in need.
“CHCV is amazing! They not only provide fruits and vegetables, but meat, eggs, dairy, and bread as well — a true cornucopia! The variety delights and challenges the children I feed, and they continue to grow their palates as I continue to introduce new foods as well as re-introduce foods they are still skeptical of. CHCV is essential to the well-being of our program.”

“ It feels so good to get our produce - every last leaf! - onto people’s plates! Community Harvest makes it very easy for us.”
Lots of beautiful apples gleaned from VTC Orchard
“CHCV has been a great partner in helping me find a home for produce from my farm that would otherwise have gone to waste. Allison is very easy to work with and very professional. CHCV recovered produce from my farm for the past two seasons. They are a great resource for Central Vermont farms that might otherwise compost or dispose of perfectly good food that isn’t economically viable to harvest.”
Bear Roots Farm potatoes gleaned by CHCV being served at the Trinity Church Community Lunch
“We are so grateful for all the fabulous goodies we received each Monday from CHCV. It’s like Christmas every Monday morning… This is such a generous program and has greatly improved our meals.”
