Groups are needed year-round to help make a tangible difference in our community!
There is so much yummy nutritious food being offered to us from our local farms, and we need your many hands to glean it all – blueberries, kale, carrots, apples, and more.
Let us know if you have a group that might be able to join us!
We would love to schedule your group glean any time of the year, keeping in mind the largest number of field gleans available for groups to join are in the late summer and fall.
Note that we will ask you to suggest a preferred date and also a back up "rain date" in case the first one does not work out.
We plan most group field gleans during the below times of the week:
Tuesday between 10:30am and 6pm
Wednesday between 1pm and 6pm
Thursday between 8:30am and 6pm
Other days or on the weekend may be possible under special situations
Sorting projects in our facility have more flexibility and can work on additional days/times.
Basic group glean/project info:
Most gleans/projects run 1.5 to 3 hours, but you tell us what works for you.
Group field gleans usually take place mid-July through mid-November. We also have sorting projects in our Berlin facility for groups year-round.
We have a range of projects for groups to work on – some are outside, some are indoor. Some are more physically challenging and some involve sitting in a climate-controlled environment. Let us know what you are looking for and we’ll try to make it work.
Groups from 4 to 10 people of any age are the best, but we can invite larger groups to join in the fall – mid-October through early November.
Please suggest a few possible dates/times that can work for your group, and we will see what we have available so we can get a glean date and "rain date" in the schedule for your group.
